SENIOR
ADULTS IN MINISTRY
We are fortunate to be blessed with so many wonderful senior adults in our congregation. God is certainly at work using their gifts and talents to enhance life within Trinity's family and the community.
An opportunity to explore God's Word is provided on Wednesday nights in the Bible Study and Prayer Group as well as during Sunday school and worship on Sunday.In addition to these opportunities, many are actively involved in Christian service projects throughout the month such as:
-Sitting with a patient at home or in the hospital to give family a respite-Taking someone to the doctor or store
-Folding bulletins & newsletters
-Participating in the Prayer Chain
-Sharing garden vegetables with others
-Prepanng meals for shut-ins or bereaved families
-Praying for younger families In the congregation
-Baking cookies for our shut-ins
-CaIIing shut-ins daily to check on them
-Mailing encouragement cards
-Helping prepare 'Family Sunday' snacks
Buddies
In addition to our church staff and other members of the congregation, our senior adults are active in visiting members from our congregation who are living in a nursing center or confined to their home. Perhaps a walk though the nursing center is what the residence needs during a visit. Nursing center & homebound buddies take church periodicals and bulletins, a sunshine gift bag, a milkshake or other snack to share together end other items from time to time.
Best Years Fellowship Day
BYF Day is sponsored by the NC East District and is heid at Victory Mountain Camp, the first Saturday in June. Senior adults from our various churches In the district enjoy a day of lively music excitng speakers, lots of door prizes and a special time of prayer together.We presently have one class for adults 55+:
Class members enjoy open discussions during class on Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. FeIlowship is one of the strong points of these classes, and members enjoy going out to eat together each month.
Fellowship opportunities are available through Silver Liners meetings the third Thursday each month.
A trip to the Asheboro Zoo, Schiele Museum in Gastonla, picnic and covered wagon ride through Lazy 5 Ranch, lunch in Southern Lunch and a tour of the Bob Timberlake Gallery, lunch at a cafeteria with a guest speaker, breakfast at IHOP with a mystery guest, Asheville Farmer's Market, JAARS and carry-in lunches with homebound members.
Camping trip at Dan Nicholas Park, Natural Bridge, VA, Ocean Isle Beach and Lake Junaluska.

"CELEBRATE LIFE" is the Senior Adult Page included in our monthly church newsletter, "Trinity Tidings." A devotional, list of upcoming events, a "seek-a-word" quiz by one of our Seniors fill the page each month.
